FiddleBox combines oldtime fiddle/banjo music with beatboxing.

CelloJoe will be dropping beats for creative, conscious, collaborative cypher flows as well of doing some of his tunes.
CelloJoe is an anomaly in the world of cellists.
By combining cello with beatboxing, he has created a unique genre: classical hip hop. Looped and layered beatboxing beats (vocal percussion) and funky cello form a rich soundscape for intelligent lyrics; CelloJoe spreads joy, laughter and consciousness raising vibrations.

CelloJoe rides his bicycle with his cello and has traveled from San Francisco, California to the bottom of Mexico; from Portland, OR to Vancouver, BC; from Logan to Provo, Utah; and in England, Holland, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, France, and Spain with the Pleasant Revolution.

Description:  As part of Santa Cruz’s First Friday Art Tour, MAPS will be hosting a Visionary Art Gallery on May 6th. The Art Tour provides a unique opportunity to learn about MAPS’ clinical research, contribute to our organization by purchasing masterpieces from our gallery, and support visionary art, all while enjoying the Santa Cruz night life.

Hosting works by internationally acclaimed visionary artists Martina HoffmannA. Andrew Gonzalez, live painting by local artists Sarah Huntley and Khalila Friedman, and works by local artist Ishka Lha. In addition to this amazing line up of artists and masterpieces we will also be featuring a number of highly enjoyable entertainment experiences, including virtuoso cello, beat-boxing, and vocal looping by Cello Joe; live mixing and bass by Homunculous Rex; fire performances by Nocturnal Sunshine, and the gong chamber experience by Danny Goldberg.

Enjoy complimentary drinks and refreshments and (of course) the company of MAPS staff, volunteers, and supporters. This is an excellent time to learn about MAPS and support our research by making donations or purchases from our stock of books, literature, DVDs, clothing, artwork, and other merchandise. All proceeds from the event help fund MAPS’ psychedelic and medical marijuana research and educational projects.

I'm going to start riding my bicycle down to Lightning in a Bottle. I'll be hauling a battery powered PA and playing everywhere I can along the way. LIB runs May 26-30. It's going to be an adventure.
